For the fourth time Yakov Okun and his band are performing at the Koktebel Jazz Party. The festival's technical equipment has considerably improved, he said. "It's become much easier. No sound problems. We are just enjoying playing the stuff that we want to play," he said.
This year, the highlight of the band's show will be a performance by the duo of Lew Tabackin and Sergei Golovnya, who together combine two performing styles. "Lew Tabackin represents the old US school, which, sadly, is almost obsolete now. They do not play this way anymore, with such deep sound. Golovnya represents the young Russian jazz school. This is going to be good jazz," Okun concluded.
