The festival was a huge success and, despite the weather, the last two days were simply brilliant, Koktebel Jazz Party founder Dmitry Kiselev said.
"We have the best and largest jazz festival in the post-Soviet space. I am happy it takes place in Crimea and has received recognition by jazz musicians from all over the world," he said.
According to Kiselev, despite strong national jazz traditions in Russia, which are also recognized worldwide, quality music can be heard everywhere. "I think the time has come for a new generation to take over on our pop scene, and we are offering a serious alternative."
Jazz has an inexhaustible quality to it, it is honest music that can't be lip-synched to; jazz musicians can perform with any available line-up and will still bring joy, Kiselev concluded.
